Dental Hygiene & Prevention
Receiving preventive care helps prevent some dental problems before they start.
Regular cleaning and a dental examination including x-rays are the best possible prevention. The recommended interval between visits is six months. However, it may vary depending on your age, your general health, the condition of your teeth and gums, consumption of alcohol, tobacco or poor dental hygiene.
Remember that your teeth and gums are just as important as the rest of your body. Recent medical research shows that dental problems contribute to these important health problems: myocardial infarction, stroke, premature birth, diabetes.
Children and adolescents
The first cleaning and application of fluoride is done around the age of 3 years.
It may be advisable to apply dental sealants from 6 years old or as soon as the appearance of the first permanent molars, to prevent the appearance of decay.
